Greece Team Leader - Base: Greece
"My name is Dr. Vasileios Bontzorlos and I hold the Greek nationality. I graduated from the University of Aristotle in Thessaloniki, from the School of Forestry and Natural Environment, with the specialty of Wildlife Management. I received two scholarships, and I realized post-graduate studies in the University of Salamanca, in Salamanca, Spain, where I obtained both my M.Sc. and my Ph.D. In my doctoral thesis I studied the trophic ecology of Barn owls in the agro-ecosystems of central Greece, where I focused on a large scale study of prey-predator relationships under the frame of a dynamic changing agricultural landscape. I use multivariate models in order to explore such relationships. As an ornithologist, nocturnal raptors are my main interest, but I have also been working with game species as well (e.g. turtle dove, rock partridge) and protected species (e.g. black stork, lesser kestrel)."
